Company OverviewCoca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Warehouse, to join the Logistics team at Equator Bottlers Limited ( EBL). The role will report to the Logistics Manager.CCBA is the 8th largest Coca-Cola authorised bottler in the world by revenue, and the largest on the continent. It accounts for over 40% of all Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverages sold in Africa by volume. CCBA group operates in 14 countries: South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi and the islands of Comoros and Mayotte.Key Purpose Statement The role is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, and dispatch of goods. The incumbent will ensure that products and materials are handled efficiently, safely, and accurately, while maintaining compliance with operational standards, health and safety requirements, and inventory governance procedures.<h3>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h3>Key Outputs and Accountabilities include, but not limited to:1. Manage the Operational team in the execution of all inbound and outbound movement:<ul><li>In support of the daily load plan, ensure the accurate picking, staging and loading of product for the purposes of on-time outbound movement, and accurate counting, receiving and unloading of product for the purposes of inbound movement, whilst ensuring optimal site turnaround time.</li><li>Ensure on-time replenishment of picking and staging areas.</li></ul>2. Manage the team in terms of stock management and inventory accuracy:<ul><li>Full product, containers, and support materials managed within storage locations as per warehouse layout, and adherence to stacking requirements per dedicated bin is enforced</li></ul>3. Manage an effective and accurate Production Interface:<ul><li>Ensure stock is removed from the production lines / containers and quality pallets are fed to the production lines in such a way that there are no disruptions to the production process, and that all items issued and received are accurately signed off between Warehouse and Manufacturing. (Wet Site)</li></ul>4. Manage all tasks within the standards of excellent housekeeping:<ul><li>Drive excellent housekeeping standards whilst adhering to warehouse layout guidelines by ensuring the correct product is stacked in the correct bins.</li></ul>5. Manage the effective care for Company assets within the team:<ul><li>Ensure the operation of company assets such as forklifts and pallet jacks within the team takes place in a safe manner, with the necessary pre-trip inspection process and reporting of damages / breakdown in place.</li><li>Drive the productive utilisation of assets as indicated by optimal fuel usage and the elimination of abuse.</li><li>Care for company assets by keeping them in optimal condition according to the company policy and specifications.</li><li>Manage maintenance service schedule adherence.</li></ul>6. Drive good product quality:<ul><li>Ensure high product quality by executing an effective rework function within the team, and adhering to the company guidelines in terms of stock rotation and First Expiry, First Out, principles.</li><li>Drive a strong focus within the team with regards to effective stock rotation and stock age management.</li><li>Record all breakages and decanting for the purpose of corrective action and improvement.</li><li>Record and address all substandard quality packaging and damages to maximise recovery and rework while minimising unnecessary write off.</li></ul>7. Manage the effective execution of system transactions and perform end-of shift reconciliations: <ul><li>Ensure system transactions are accurate and timeous, and perform an end-of-shift reconciliation to verify that all movements are accurate, valid and on-time.</li><li>Conduct an effective shift handover</li></ul>8. Implement activity based resourcing: <ul><li>Manage the team to ensure resources are aligned to activity requirements per time of day and day of the week</li></ul>9. People management: Manage team and own performance: <ul><li>Continuous on-the-job training, coaching, counselling and support for team members</li><li>Management of resources to ensure achievement of productivity requirements</li><li>Planning and managing of change within the organisation</li><li>Effective team meetings and active resolution of issues encountered</li><li>Team performance management</li><li>Maintain health, safety and environment (HSE) standards</li></ul>10. Drive effective Financial Management of areas impacting Warehouse and Distribution cost<ul><li>Manage, within the team:</li><li>Effective pay cost management by appropriate resource planning and reduction in seasonal workers and overtime</li><li>Effective fuel usage through forklift optimisation</li><li>Optimal maintenance cost</li><li>Optimal sorting cost spend by close management of the sorting operation</li><li>Ensure breakages are recorded and managed down, FBR's related to load accuracy managed down, achievement of operational efficiency standards as per company requirements.</li><li>Accountable to ensure unaccountable waste is managed down by process adherence and corrective action where adherence is not in place.</li></ul>11. Leverage information systems to drive achievement of Operational Key Performance Indicators 12. Compliance to governance controls in all areas within the team<h3>Skills, Experience &amp; Education</h3>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.</li><li>Industry Knowledge: Understanding of warehouse management principles and best practices.</li><li>Membership of Professional Supply Chain, Finance or Procurement bodies will be an added advantage.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years in Warehouse operations.</li><li>At least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a fast-paced bottling or production environment.</li><li>Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.</li><li>Process Improvement: Experience in implementing process improvements and efficiency initiatives.</li><li>Proven track record of leading and managing a team effectively.</li></ul>Skills <ul><li>Strong employee relations management</li><li>Effective coaching and team leadership</li><li>Team and individual development</li><li>Sound decision-making based on data, warehouse knowledge, and desired outcomes</li><li>Strong focus on operational standards and team productivity</li></ul>
