This program is designed as a 6-month fast-track career development targeting top-performing graduates who are keen on pursuing an actuarial or reinsurance career at East Africa Reinsurance. Actuarial Trainees

<p>We are looking for outstanding and agile individuals with drive, resilience, a can-do attitude and a track record of delivering successfully individually and as part of a team. The individuals will be part of the Non-Life and Life Businesses responsible for strategic activities relating to business development/revenue generation, end-to-end client relationships management, facultative acceptances, retrocession management, claims management, and providing operational processes to support efficient service delivery.</p>
<p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p>
<h5>A)  Skills</h5>
<ul>
<li>Solid understanding and experience in the responsibilities stated above in an insurance or reinsurance company.</li>
<li>Demonstrated and replicable business development/marketing competencies.</li>
<li>The ideal candidate should be able to engage clients and propose innovative reinsurance solutions in line with the Company’s products.</li>
<li>Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.</li>
<li>Agile, customer-centric, creative, results and detail-oriented.</li>
<li>Strong communication, analytical and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare relevant business reports.</li>
<li>Strategic thinking, problem-solving and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>A self-starter capable of working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.</li>
<li>Accountable with good ethical behavior, honest and transparent. You do as you say and you say as you do.</li>
<li>An appreciation and interaction with IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts is an added advantage.</li>
<li>Experience and knowledge of SICS reinsurance management system is an added advantage.</li>
</ul>
<h5>B) Experience</h5>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 7 years of experience in reinsurance or a similar position.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Non-Life or Life business underwriting, treaty wordings (proportional and non‐proportional) and facultative.</li>
<li>Experience in information management and production of management reports relating to both inward and outwards reinsurance</li>
</ul>
<h5>C)  Education</h5>
<ul>
<li>University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and related fields.</li>
<li>Professional qualifications or advanced progress in either CII, or Actuarial or Risk</li>
</ul>
