Department: ICEA LION General InsuranceLocation: NairobiContact type:Full Time/Part time: Full TimeReporting into:Country: Kenya<h6>JOB SUMMARY</h6>The role holder is responsible for ensuring the best claims approach is taken when dealing with motor claims matters by effective management of all tasks in the motor Section, including coordination, organization of work, motivation, and maintenance of discipline.<h6>ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</h6><ul><li>Prepare various reports; IRA monthly claims return, declined claims, IRA annual reports, and other reports for use in the department and company.</li><li>Checking payment within the mandate.</li><li>Authorising payment within the mandate.</li><li>Prepare discharge voucher.</li><li>Approve discharge voucher with the mandate.</li><li>Dealing with queries from clients and service providers.</li><li>Regular monitoring of the BAM Reports on each member of staff in the section to ensure no mail remains unattended.</li><li>Reviewing files within the set guidelines to avoid nil instances of inaccurate claim reserves.</li><li>Guiding and training newly recruited staff and maintaining acceptable levels of discipline in the section.</li><li>Maintaining liaison with clients both internal and external.</li><li>Collaborating with other departments in relation to matters such as system development.</li><li>Reviewing claims and reports and advising on the best course of action.</li><li>Claim registration and analysis.</li><li>Communicating with garages on repair/release of vehicles.</li><li>Processing the various invoices received for payment and ensuring that the invoices</li></ul><h6>PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS</h6><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline from a reputable university.</li><li>Professional qualification(s) in insurance e.g. ACII or equivalent an added advantage.</li><li>At least 5 years’ experience in a claims supervisory role.</li><li>Claims experience and capacity to handle all non-motor and motor classes.</li></ul><h6>CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES</h6><ul><li>High-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including ability to build alliances and collaborative relationships with sensitivity to diversity.</li><li>High levels of integrity.</li><li>Good customer relationship management skills (internal and external customers).</li><li>Good communication skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>Confidence in presenting to large groups of people.</li><li>Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information.</li></ul>If you meet the requirements for this position, click the APPLY NOW button below to submit your application and resume by 5th October 2026.APPLY NOW

This role involves quoting for individual and corporate clients, providing excellent customer service, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring effective training and support for travel agents, intermediaries and direct clients.
