Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
<ul>
<li>Developing and implementing ICT systems and standards;</li>
<li>Carrying out feasibility studies for areas to be computerized;</li>
<li>Evaluating systems and ensuring adherence to established performance standards;</li>
<li>Maintaining primary and disaster recovery data centers;</li>
<li>Ensuring work and changes to the ICT infrastructure components are undertaken;</li>
<li>Administering and maintaining LAN &amp; WAN;</li>
<li>Compiling progress reports on the operations of ICT systems;</li>
<li>Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement;</li>
<li>Controlling and monitoring user access to the databases;</li>
<li>Optimizing the performance of the databases; and</li>
<li>Planning for backup and disaster recovery systems</li>
</ul>
Job Requirements
<ul>
<li>Served in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer I for a minimum period of three (3) years;</li>
<li>Bachelors in any of the following disciplines:- Computer Science; Information Science; Information Technology; Business Information Technology, or any equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;</li>
<li>Masters degree in any of the following disciplines:- Computer Science; Information Science; Information Systems; Information Technology; Business Information Technology, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;</li>
<li>Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;</li>
<li>Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than three (3) weeks from a recognized institution;</li>
<li>High integrity and high professional standards;</li>
<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills;</li>
<li>Showed merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.</li>
<li>Fulfilled the requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. </li>
