Job Summary
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and assuming responsibility and accountability for the provision of efficient and accurate laboratory tests and procedures to assist in diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients. He/ She will also be responsible for implementation of new procedures, quality control of laboratory services and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory guidelines, standards and protocols relating to laboratory services.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:

<li>Manage reporting, monitoring resources, and laboratory personnel.</li>
<li>Work closely with team members to provide effective solutions to support business and quality objectives.</li>
<li>Facilitate effective communication across internal departments by trending and reporting data.</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, budgets, and programs schedules.</li>
<li>Identification and addressing of complains, risks, non-conformance and corrective actions.</li>
<li>Coordinate planning and implementation of trainings, workshops and seminars for Lab staff.</li>
<li>Ensure the lab establishes and maintains calibration programs, quality controls and assurance programs for all equipment that affect quality results.</li>
<li>Ensure safe laboratory environmental in compliance with good laboratory practice and applicable regulations.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Qualifications
<ul>
<li>A bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from accredited institution.</li>
<li>4+ years of progressive management/or supervisory experience.</li>
<li>Registered by the KMLTTB with current practicing license.</li>
<li>Experience with ISO 15189:2012 laboratory accreditation processes required.</li>
<li>Demonstrate ability and capacity to steer the laboratory to transition from ISO 15189:2012 to ISO 15189:2022 accreditation standard.</li>
<li>Trainings in Implementation of ISO 15189 Standard, Internal Auditing and Risk Management in Medical Laboratory Quality systems will be an added Advantage.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, team building and mentoring abilities.</li>

Laboratory Manager-1 Position

<h3>Job Summary </h3>
The successful applicant will be expected to lead the following functions; i) Cash and Assets Management, ii) Payments and Utilities Management, iii) Planning and Budgeting, iv)Statutory Returns and Payroll Deductions, v) Reporting and Controls, and vi) Relationship Management in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner in line with the established guidelines.
<h3>Job Responsibilities and Duties </h3>
<ul>
<li>Cash and Assets Management-perform reconciliations and maintaining an up-to-date asset register</li>
<li>Take part in Planning and Budgeting processes</li>
<li>Participating in the development, review, and implementation of the payable policies and procedures in line with best practices and industry trends;  </li>
<li>Gathering and verifying invoices for appropriate documentation, processing of payment vouchers, filing and maintaining correct payables ledgers</li>
<li>Payments and Utilities Management-Clarifying any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures, obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments</li>
<li>Ensuring transactions are captured in journals, ledgers, and other records, reconciling accounts payable transactions</li>
<li>Reporting and controls-Preparing an analysis of accounts, leading in month-end closure of books and monitoring accounts to ensure representation of a fair view of all books of accounts </li>
<li>Participate in interim and final audit processes by maintaining accurate historical records; and provision of supporting documentation</li>
<li>Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor from time to time.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications and Desired Skills </h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or other business related fields from a recognized institution.</li>
<li>Must be a qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ACCA</li>
<li>Excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Financial and Management Accounting; Taxation, and relevant legislation.</li>
<li>High proficiency in the use of standard PC packages with a good understanding of spreadsheets and systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Nav</li>
<li> High organization and communication skills to be able to interact with people at all levels, handle multiple priorities and get things done with a hands-on approach.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills coupled with the ability to solve problems and form conclusions.</li>

Accountant Payables-1 Position

Job Summary:
Under the direction of more experienced medical staff and through collaboration with other health professionals, the resident medical officer will be tasked with providing effective appropriate medical care to both inpatient and outpatient clients commensurate with their capabilities and in accordance with delegated clinical privileges.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under full time supervision of the Medical Director, the incumbent shall:
<ul>
<li>Provide appropriate medical care to patients presenting in the outpatient department. </li>
<li>Request for appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both inpatient and outpatient clients.</li>
<li>Appropriately offer referrals and treatment options to clients when called upon.</li>
<li>Be available for urgent and emergent care of patients within the facility.</li>
<li>Provide and document all necessary documentation on the hospital medical record platform.</li>
<li>Be available for review of inpatients if and when called upon.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Must be a holder of MBChB or other equivalent degree recognised by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council in Kenya </li>
<li>Should be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council with updated license for the year 2023.</li>
<li>Should have a professional indemnity cover for not less than KES 1,000,000. </li>
</ul>
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
<ul>
<li>Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, training and team building abilities.</li>
<li>Good clinical acumen and skills.</li>
<li>Must be computer literate and ready to work with an integrated management system.</li>
<li>Ability to handle multiple tasks. </li>

<li>Training in BLS/ACLS/ATLS is mandatory  </li>

Job Summary:

Nurse In-Charge Maternity Department

Kisumu Specialists Hospital is recruiting the position above to participate in a variety of complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests
Job Summary: Implementation of the quality management system by complying with established quality manuals and policies in operation of the laboratory
Duties and Responsibilities: Under full time supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the incumbent shall:
1. Implement laboratory standard operating procedures to ensure daily activities in the laboratory are efficient and effective
2. Implementation of the quality management system by complying with established quality manuals and policies.
3. Implement and ensure biosafety and biosecurity procedures are adhered to within the facility laboratories
4. Maintain inventory for reagents and consumables as well as prepare laboratory reagents to ensure smooth running of laboratory activities
5. Collection, sorting, identification and processing of laboratory samples for final quality results
6. Perform laboratory equipment validations, verification, calibration and quality controls processes as necessary for the provision of accurate reliable laboratory results
7. Performing routine and specialized laboratory tests.
8. Ensure laboratory waste are weighed and decontaminated before disposal
9. Identification and addressing of complaints, non-conformances and corrective actions relating to their work area
Minimum Education/Training Requirements:
1. Must have completed diploma or undergraduate studies in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
2. Should be registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board with updated licence.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, training and team building abilities
2. Good knowledge of laboratory operations and procedures.
3. Ability to follow detailed instructions in implementation of Quality Management systems
4. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
5. Strong Interpersonal skills and organizational skills
6. Training in ISO 15189:2012 standard is an additional advantage
