LAW’s vision is "a world where all victims and survivors have access to justice, so that impunity is not a barrier to sustainable peace.”THE POSITIONLAW’s Nairobi office manages programmes in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan, and is strategically based to build networks and partnerships, working with a wide range of stakeholders on human rights and accountability.We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Communications Coordinator to help amplify LAW’s voice and impact across the region. You will work closely with our Programme Managers on the ground and our Communications Manager in Geneva to raise LAW’s profile and showcase the important work undertaken. You'll also shape and strengthen our regional communications, collaborating with programme teams, partners, and colleagues across our Hub Offices, and developing partnerships and networks across the region. In addition, you'll be at the heart of storytelling that matters, crafting compelling, high-quality content for a variety of platforms, especially social media.MORE ABOUT THE POSITIONWhere? The position will be based at LAW’s Nairobi Office in Kenya. You must have the legal right to work in Kenya.Duration: 12 Months on a full-time basis with possibility of extension subject to funding.Salary: KES 3,660,000 to KES 3,780,000 a year (based on experience) plus benefits.What will you do? extract key impact information to increase visibility, profile key events and advocacy activities in the region, and globally.You will also perform duties in accordance with the responsibilities outlined below:Strategic Communication<ul><li>Develop an activity calendar for the programmes (Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan), covering plans for social media, website, press, exhibitions, events, awards and external communication.</li><li>Monitor, track indicators and evaluate media coverage, campaigns, publication prints and digital to maximise efficiency.</li><li>Coordinate and support preparation of key messaging, research reports, and concept notes for events.</li><li>Attend LAW and/or external partner events together with the Programme Manager and develop relevant content.</li><li>Establish strong relationships with and maintain list of national and regional networks and journalistic contacts.</li><li>Attend field visits (including regional travel) and take professional photos and videos for championing and profiling successful stories and social media posts.</li><li>Collate information from country programmes for the global newsletters and website content, in coordination with the Communications Manager in Geneva.</li></ul>Social Media and Digital Engagement<ul><li>Collaborate to populate the global social media plan, in coordination with the Communications Manager, design, deliver and maintain engaging content for LAW’s key social media channels, including Twitter, to create impactful stories, case studies, and other engaging content.</li><li>Identify and maintain a strong coordination mechanism with locally and globally hired videographers, photographers, and graphic designers and coordinate planning and deliverables.</li><li>In coordination with the Communications Manager, ensure all visual materials developed meet expectations, and match LAW’s visual identity and vision.</li><li>Lead on the creation, and design of innovative information toolkits (audio, digital).</li><li>Maintain and update content for regional website pages.</li><li>Research and analyze performance on various platforms and make recommendations on how to improve our communications.</li></ul>Events &amp; Campaigns<ul><li>Support the planning and hosting of public events, roundtables, briefings, etc, across programmes, in Nairobi and other offices in the region.</li><li>Prepare materials for events including save the dates, invitations, flyers, agendas, and distribute in coordination with Programme Managers.</li><li>Provide other administrative, logistics and procurement support in the Nairobi office as needed, in particular for the organisation of missions and events.</li><li>Any other task requested by management.</li></ul>This post will require travel to programme countries including Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan.About You<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, media relations, journalism or relevant field;</li><li>Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience working in journalism, media relations, advocacy or communications in a similar role.</li><li>4 years proven experience in a similar role designing, drafting and developing traditional and social media content for dissemination.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in journalism.</li><li>Relevant experience working within an international NGOs is preferred, ideally in human rights or humanitarian field.</li><li>Track record of highly effective content production and social media management.</li><li>Excellent knowledge of video editing.</li><li>Excellent written and oral skills in English and second regional language (Arabic) is an asset, with the ability to clearly articulate information to various audiences and stakeholders.</li><li>Ability to work on your own initiative and part of the wider team.</li><li>Experience in photography, ideally with DSLR cameras or similar preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint and strong technical literacy.</li><li>The legal right to work in Kenya.</li></ul><h2>How to apply</h2>If you have a talent for powerful communication, a strong eye for detail, and a deep interest in human rights, we’d love to hear from you.To apply please click on this link: https://legalactionworldwide.bamboohr.com/careers/96The deadline for applications is 9 a.m. Nairobi time on 29th May 2026.At LAW we are strengthened by the diversity of our colleagues reflecting the people and communities that we represent and support. Communications Coordinator - Nairobi

Role Overview and Responsibility
The HR and Logistics Coordinator will be delivering a comprehensive support to the teams and ensure compliance, and perform activities in accordance with responsibilities outlined below:
Human Resources
<ul>
<li>Lead on the recruitment and selection process; drafting job descriptions, advertising, short listing, scheduling interviews, preparation of appropriate interview documents and liaising with candidates, also participating on interview panels;</li>
<li>Lead on staff probation and ensure performance reviews are held in a timely manner with the line manager; identifying training needs and developing professional development plans;</li>
<li>Accountable for HR documents, including maintenance of confidential personnel files, leave records etc to ensure these are accurate and up to date;</li>
<li>Lead on staff receiving relevant training and adhere to consistent high standards, including the Code of Conduct, safeguarding policies and wellbeing initiatives;</li>
<li>Manage staff performance concerns or conduct issues efficiently and effectively with appropriate support and HR intervention in coordination with the Programme Manager and to escalate to Head of HR as necessary;</li>
<li>Support the Head of HR and Compliance on developing policies, toolkits and ensure that LAW policy and procedures are embedded and adhered to;</li>
<li>Drafting offer letters; ensure all paperwork is processed (pre-employment reference and background checks); and all new employee procedures are correctly administered;</li>
<li>Draft contracts, employment and consultant agreements to service providers/ other vendors, and maintaining an efficient system to tracks contract expiry, renewal and changes in contracts are adequately documented;</li>
<li>Lead on induction and onboarding for all new starters ensuring staff have appropriate information, training, workspace, LAW equipment including medical insurance;</li>
</ul>
Payroll and Logistics
<ul>
<li>Ensure smooth running of payroll and pay slips in coordination with the Finance Coordinator; employee registration, salary payments and tax deductions, time sheets, exit clearance, etc;</li>
<li>Coordinate with brokers (medical compensation insurance) to manage appropriate covers and policies for staff;</li>
<li>Lead on the procurement and vendor selection process (suppliers and service providers), obtaining quotes, preparing bid analysis, drafting contracts, and ensuring periodic reviews of service agreements as per donor and LAW requirements; .</li>
<li>Focal person for office suppliers and vendors; respond to queries, ensure utility bills and payment authorisation are tracked;</li>
<li>Liaise with the letting agent on any building management issues etc;</li>
<li>Procurement and financial compliance, assisting with maintaining office /stationery supplies, and track inventory of LAW equipment including laptops etc;</li>
<li>Coordinate with project teams or guests travelling the Africa Hub, or country offices on mission with advise and assist on all visa or work permit requirements, including planning of flights and accommodation.</li>
</ul>
Partnerships
<ul>
<li>Support the Programme and Finance team to follow up on partners’ compliance with partnership agreements: monitor reporting obligations, organise trainings on compliance with policies, and other duties as specified by the Programme Manager;</li>
<li>Draft or review partnership agreements, ensure timely renewal or termination.</li>
</ul>
Security
<ul>
<li>Support the Programme Manager to maintain and develop security plans; risk assessment in coordination with the Operations Director;</li>
<li>Maintenance of the office to ensure a safe and comfortable workplace and implementation of staff security and safety;</li>
<li>Communicating with teams and keeping up to date with relevant security agencies and government sources to ensure awareness of the security and political situation;</li>
<li>Conducting risk and security assessment when planning events, travel missions and field trips;</li>
<li>Supporting the Programme Manager by initiating emergency calls to staff in a crisis situation;</li>
<li>Any other duties as specified by Programme Manager or the Head of HR and Compliance.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Qualifications Required:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in human resources management, or Business Administration;</li>
<li>Minimum 4 years demonstrated experience working within a HR function in a similar position</li>
<li>Track record of delivering comprehensive HR service including procurement, drafting policies and policies;</li>
<li>Minimum 1 year’s demonstrated experience of delivering general payroll and complying with statutory requirements;</li>
<li>Flexible and proactive with ability to manage different demands and multi-tasking</li>
<li>Experience working with an international INGO preferred or NGO experience supporting functions / teams remotely;</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English, other languages such as French is an advantage;</li>
<li>Towork independently, with high level of organisation and prioritize tasks;</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience to establish positive relationships with various stakeholders;</li>
<li>Excellent knowledge and understanding of Kenyan Labor law;</li>
<li>Ability and skills to support capacity building;</li>
<li>Ability or track record of implementing safeguarding practices</li>
</ul>

HR & Logistics Coordinator - Africa

<h3>Role Overview and Responsibility:</h3>
The Legal Fellow will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with the objectives and activities set out below:
Programme
<ul>
<li>In-depth research and analysis of the contexts of Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and other African countries as needed.</li>
<li>In-depth research and analysis of international law, international human rights law, international criminal law, international humanitarian law and preparation of research briefs, legal documentation and factsheets on thematic legal topics and support to the drafting of legal submissions.</li>
<li>Monitor and analyse developments of new legal trends and keep abreast of legal, political and governance related developments in areas that touch upon LAW’s mandate</li>
<li>Draft updates for LAW’s Africa and global teams, related to research above.</li>
<li>Prepare the weekly news, social media messages and updates for LAW’s website and social media platform relating to the Somalia and South Sudan Programme.</li>
<li>Contribute to preparing training materials, organising, and delivering training on various topic to justice actors and civil society organisation members.</li>
<li>Contribute to drafting project proposals, collating project data, and drafting donor reports.</li>
<li>Identify new funding and partnership opportunities.</li>
<li>Prepare social media and advocacy messaging for the Africa Programme and maintain LAW’s website relating to the Programme.</li>
<li>Any other duties as directed by the Programme Manager or Legal Advisor.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Experience, Skills and Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>You must be Kenyan National</li>
<li>Degree in law with a focus on international humanitarian law, human rights, international criminal law; Master’s degree is an asset.</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience of working in fragile or conflict-affected settings.</li>
<li>Excellent research and drafting experience and skills.</li>
<li>Experience practising law and collaborating with legal actors, civil society organisations or international NGOs is preferred.</li>
<li>Excellent organisational skills and analytical skills.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong technical literacy.</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work on own and take initiative; demonstrated experience working remotely.</li>
<li>Excellent English and written skills to edit and proofread.</li>
