Ensure that project infrastructure is constructed according to approved scope, design specification and international best practice, and the systems are operational with&nbsp;appropriate operations&nbsp;and maintenance systems in place.&nbsp;2. Review infrastructure compliance with the IFC Performance Standards and IFC EHS Guidelines&nbsp;Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Conduct desk-based and field reviews of project documentation, including feasibility studies, approved scope, technical specifications, contract&nbsp;requirements&nbsp;and overall engineering designs.&nbsp;</li><li>Conduct site inspection, verifying material compliance, structural integrity, installation requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Review and&nbsp;assess&nbsp;O&amp;M manuals, maintenance schedules, spare parts strategy, asset management&nbsp;</li><li>Review engineering designs and layouts to assess land acquisition, resettlement, community health and safety, labor conditions, emissions, waste management, and biodiversity impacts (if applicable)&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare and review IFC Performance Standards compliance checklists for&nbsp;an infrastructure (ICT)&nbsp;</li><li>Identify&nbsp;E&amp;S risks, gaps, and corrective actions&nbsp;</li><li>If&nbsp;needed&nbsp;participate&nbsp;in key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with project-affected communities, regulators, utilities, and project sponsors.&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with environmental specialists, social specialists, economists, and field teams to synthesize findings.&nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, IFC PS compliance matrices, and case studies.&nbsp;</li></ul>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;<ul><li>Bachelor’s or&nbsp;Master’s degree in Engineering&nbsp;(Civil, Mechanical,&nbsp;Electrical, Environmental), Energy Economics, Infrastructure Planning, or&nbsp;a related&nbsp;field.&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum 3–7 years of professional experience&nbsp;on&nbsp;infrastructure or&nbsp;ICT.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated experience applying IFC Performance Standards and/or World Bank E&amp;S frameworks.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience working in&nbsp;Kenya.</li><li>Familiarity with environmental and social safeguards, including land acquisition, resettlement, labor and working conditions, and community health and safety.&nbsp;</li><li>Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.&nbsp;</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;<ul><li>Prior experience on IFC-, World Bank-, AfDB-, or DFC-financed projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience specifically with&nbsp;ICT&nbsp;projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of&nbsp;Kenya&nbsp;environmental regulations and&nbsp;permitting&nbsp;processes.&nbsp;</li></ul>REPORTING REQUIREMENTS&nbsp;The Consultant will report to the Project Team Leader&nbsp;for&nbsp;technical direction and to the Project Manager for administrative matters.&nbsp;DURATION&nbsp;<ul><li>Consultancy Duration: Approximately 3 days (with potential extension)&nbsp;</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS &amp; REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:&nbsp;The incumbent in these&nbsp;positions&nbsp;will work&nbsp;in&nbsp;the field&nbsp;and will&nbsp;utilize&nbsp;the&nbsp;following equipment when working&nbsp;<ul><li>Computer (laptop or desktop)&nbsp;</li><li>Telephone&nbsp;</li><li>Printer&nbsp;(Optional)&nbsp;</li></ul>The physical demands and work environment that have been described&nbsp;is&nbsp;representative of those&nbsp;an employee&nbsp;encounters while performing the essential functions of these&nbsp;positions. The Consultant will support real-time interpretation during qualitative data collection activities, including Key Informant Interviews (KIIs).
