Objectives of the internship
<ul>
<li>The objective of this position is to provide a learning environment for an aspiring Finance and Accounting professional, who will also contribute to the finance, administration and procurement functions at Terre des Hommes Netherlands.</li>
</ul>
Position in the organization
<ul>
<li>The Finance and Administration intern will work with the Kenya country team and will receive hierarchical leadership and support from the Finance and Administration Officer to whom he/she reports.</li>
</ul>
Main Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Ensure coordination of complete and accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions;</li>
<li>Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports in the approved Financial Reporting templates in Excel;</li>
<li>Prepare Bank Reconciliations and maintenance of cash books;</li>
<li>Preparation of payment vouchers for both operational and project expenses;</li>
<li>Assist in review of Cash Requests and Expense Declaration Reports and ensuring all documents are complete and accurate as per TdH NL policies and procedures;</li>
<li>Assist in the procurement processes for Projects and for the Kenya Country Office;</li>
<li>Filing of all supporting documents and ensuring the filing system is up to date;</li>
<li>Assist in preparing supporting schedules and retrieval of support documents for internal and external audits;</li>
<li>Performing any other duty as may be assigned by the line manager.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, skills and experience

<li>Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's degree program in Finance, Accounting or Economics or related field OR</li>
<li>Recently completed (less than a year) a bachelor’s/master's degree program in Finance, Accounting or Economics or related fields but with ongoing CPA qualification studies</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets is essential</li>

Finance and Administration Intern

Specific Objectives of the Consultancy
The purpose of this consultancy is to:

<li>Adapt the qualitative research framework and toolkit to the country’s context, ensuring participatory child-centred research methods are used</li>
<li>Organise data collection in compliance with the set quality and ethical criteria</li>

<li>Pilot research toolkit and proceed to adjustments in collaboration with the child advisory group: 2 days</li>
<li>Coordinate and conduct data collection e.g. interviews and focus group discussions in compliance with quality and ethical standards: 10 days</li>
<li>Manage data following standards set in the General Data Protection Regulation: 2 days</li>

Produce a country findings report - August 2024

<li>Conduct validation activities with research participants in collaboration with the child advisory group: 2 days</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Masters degree in anthropology, sociology, development studies, childhood development, international human rights law, adolescent health or education, or other relevant field.</li>
<li>At least five years of qualitative research experience, including participatory and child-centred methods</li>
<li>Previous experience with undertaking qualitative data collection and analysis on an issue related to child protection, children’s rights, violence against children</li>
<li>Understanding on issues related to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, including technology-facilitated CSEA</li>
<li>Excellent ability to communicate and write both in English and Kiswahili</li>
<li>Experience working with diverse workforces</li>
<li>Experience in working as part of a research team</li>
<li>Working knowledge of research ethics, including informed consent, data confidentiality, do no harm, child safeguarding etc.</li>

Kenya Consultant SCROL Research

Responsibilities :
<ul>
<li>Under the supervision of the Deputy Operations Manager, he/she ensures the proper functioning of operations at the national level; as such he/she represents the Foundation in Kenya.</li>
<li>He/She directs and supervises all activities connected to the Tdh projects in his/her assignment country in line with the SP (Strategic Plan) and strategic orientations.</li>
<li>He/She represents Tdh (including legally) and promotes the entirety of its remit in the assignment country.</li>
<li>He/She demonstrates ethical and exemplary leadership to maintain the Foundation’s good reputation and leads all the delegation’s collaborators in a shared vision in compliance with the Foundation’s strategic orientations. In collaboration with the programs and expertise, he/she develops the Strategic Plan of the Delegation’s operations in compliance with the general reference framework.</li>
<li>He/She develops and guarantees the implementation of the Delegation’s Annual Operational Plans (AOPs) in compliance with the Strategic Plan and internal processes (budgetary management, HR and logistics management, quality and accountability).</li>
<li>He/She guarantees the implementation of an operational risk-management system for the Delegation.</li>
<li>He/She supervises and supports all staff attached to the Delegation.</li>

<li>Ensure the global programme’s portfolio of programmes and projects contribute to progress on the overall global programme’s ToC and goals (model development, L&amp;A agenda, research and learning agenda, etc.).</li>
<li>Deliver thought leadership on their programmatic theme (WFCL); stay on top of global developments in the relevant field and bring ideas and knowledge to the work of TdH NL.</li>
<li>Identify and pursue funding opportunities to further the work of the global programme, with support from the Resource Mobilisation team.</li>
<li>Support development of tools, processes and guidelines for the successful implementation of the global programme.</li>
