We achieve this through innovative programmes focused on health, migration and access to justice, specially designed to have a positive and sustainable impact.This position is hosted by Tdh in Kenya.Context:The Innovative Financing Global Advisor will support Terre des hommes’ (Tdh) new global initiative on innovative financing, established to diversify funding sources and strengthen long-term organizational future readiness. In alignment with the global institutional initiative, the Advisor will drive learning, scoping, partnership development, and early implementation of innovative financing approaches relevant to Tdh’s mission, programs, and geographical presence. The role serves as Tdh’s internal engine for financial innovation: building capacity, coordinating cross-departmental work, engaging external experts, and designing pilot initiatives that will contribute to the next global strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Development and Leadership<ul><li>Support the delivery of Tdh’s innovative financing roadmap in specific contexts and programs/thematic areas of Tdh.</li><li>Conduct strategic analysis of market trends, donor shifts, and emerging financing models in the humanitarian and development sectors.</li><li>Translate complex financing concepts into actionable opportunities for Tdh.</li></ul>Landscape Analysis &amp; Knowledge Building<ul><li>Conduct and update a comprehensive mapping of financing instruments, actors, and mechanisms relevant to Tdh in specific countries, regions, thematic areas/programs.</li><li>Facilitate internal learning through workshops, expert briefings, and capacity-building sessions across departments and regions.</li><li>Identify internal capacity gaps (finance, risk, compliance, legal, MEAL) and propose strengthening measures.</li></ul>Partnership Development<ul><li>Engage external experts, donors, DFIs, financial institutions, consultancies, and academic partners to support the initiatives of Tdh in the field.</li><li>Build Tdh’s credibility in the innovative financing ecosystem, representing the organization in relevant forums when required.</li><li>Explore opportunities to join existing mechanisms or consortia.</li></ul>Pilot Design and Early Implementation<ul><li>Coordinate the design of pilot(s) in strategic domains (climate, health, child protection, migration, etc.).</li><li>Formalize technical partnerships needed for implementation.</li></ul>Document early lessons learned to inform strategy development for 2028+.**The full Job Description will be shared with shortlisted candidates.**Profile:Education:<ul><li>Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Development, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field</li></ul>Specific training in blended finance, impact investing, or development finance.Experience / Skills:<ul><li>Proven experience (7+ years) in innovative financing, humanitarian, and development finance.</li><li>Track record in working with financial mechanisms and instruments used in the humanitarian and development sectors.</li><li>Proven experience in working with multilateral development banks or consulting companies focused on humanitarian and development finance.</li><li>Experience in working in cross-functional teams and working with financial, legal, and programmatic stakeholders.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to translate market intelligence into strategy and actionable proposals.</li><li>Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills.</li><li>Knowledge of INGO operational challenges and realities is an asset.</li><li>Experience engaging external experts, donors, DFIs, or private‑sector actors.</li><li>Solid knowledge of impact measurement design and reporting.</li></ul>Languages:<ul><li>Fluency in English (required)</li><li>Working knowledge of French (an asset)</li></ul>IT knowledge:Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSalary:<ul><li>The salary will be determined in accordance with Tdh Kenya salary scale based on the candidate's relevant professional experience.</li></ul>Tdh General Code of Conduct and Ethical Policies:<ul><li>Commits to promoting and complying with the Global Code of Conduct, systematically reporting any violations of the Code through Tdh's formal reporting mechanisms and dealing with any violations of procedures and processes appropriately.</li><li>Raises awareness of the Foundation of the risks of policy non-compliance, violence and abuse, and related rights, towards children, community members and our own employees.</li><li>Undertakes to comply with key ethical policies and guidelines, including the Safeguarding Policy, the Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy, the Conflict-of-Interest Policy and other policies related to the prevention of terrorist financing and criminal activities, as well as workplace behavior.</li><li>Commits to putting values and principles into practice through exemplary behavior, in full compliance with the Code of Conduct, and always respecting established procedures and processes.</li><li>Commits to developing a compliant and enlightened management culture within the organization and in our work with children and the communities in which we operate.</li></ul><h2>How to apply</h2>Procedure:Only complete applications (CV + covering letter) posted on our official website https://jobs.tdh.org/en-GB/jobs/8302620-innovative-financing-global-advisor-position-based-in-nairobi-kenya?promotion=2173309-trackable-share-link-reliefweb will be processed.
