Employees at WUSC work hard to create lasting change in the communities they serve.Purpose of the Role:The Driver and Administrative Assistant delivers safe transport, administrative and logistical support Key duties include managing vehicle maintenance and optimizing daily office efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Driving &amp; vehicle maintenance<ul><li>Safely transport staff, visitors, and cargo to designated locations using efficient routes.</li><li>Adhere to traffic laws and organizational security, safety, and vehicle policies.</li><li>Maintain precise vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and mileage reports.</li><li>Conduct daily inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness/fueling, and coordinate repairs, servicing, and insurance renewals.</li><li>Ensure that all assigned vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and sufficiently fueled.</li></ul>Administrative &amp; Logistics Support<ul><li>Assist with collecting quotes, purchasing items, and tracking office inventory.</li><li>Handle filing, scanning, printing, document distribution, and official mail/courier delivery.</li><li>Assist with field schedules, airport transfers, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining an orderly office environment.</li></ul>Compliance and Safety<ul><li>Adhere to organizational policies, health and safety procedures, security protocols, and safeguarding requirements.</li><li>Promptly report all accidents, incidents, or security concerns.</li><li>Protect the confidentiality of organizational data and documentation.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Possession of a valid driver’s license with an unblemished driving record.</li><li>Defensive driving certification is highly advantageous.</li><li>Completion of secondary education (High School Certificate) as a minimum requirement.</li><li>A diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.</li><li>Fundamental computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and email systems.</li><li>Certified training in First Aid is considered an asset.</li><li>Fluency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili; additional ability to speak the local language is a distinct advantage.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>At least 3 years' experience as a professional driver.</li><li>Demonstrated experience providing administrative or office support.</li><li>Experience working with NGOs, development organizations, or corporate offices is an added advantage.</li><li>Familiarity with Dadaab and surrounding areas will be an advantage</li></ul>Key Competencies and requirements<ul><li>Excellent knowledge of road safety, driving laws, and time management.</li><li>High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional communication.</li><li>Ability to work independently, multitask, and work as part of a team.</li><li>Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by operational needs.</li></ul>Additional requirements<ul><li>Candidates currently residing in Dadaab will be given preference due to the operational requirements of the role.</li><li>May be required to work evenings, weekends, or public holidays depending on operational needs.</li></ul>Applications:WUSC’s activities seek to balance inequities and create sustainable development around the globe; the work ethic of our staff, volunteers, representatives and partners shall correspond to the values and mission of the organization. Employees at WUSC work hard to create lasting change in the communities they serve.Project Description:WUSC has launched the second phase (2026-2031) of an exciting initiative, which aims to significantly expand efforts to help refugee, displaced, and host community (RDP) youth, particularly young women, secure dignified and fulfilling work and access education opportunities across Africa. Building on prior successes, this Phase II will deepen engagement in new geographies, strengthen local ecosystems, and equip partners with necessary knowledge and tools for lasting change. A core strategy is emphasizing the engagement and strengthening of Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) to provide sustainable, locally-led technical assistance.Over the next five years, Phase II’s ambitious goals include indirectly enabling one million RDP youth to secure dignified work and 35,000 to access education through the provision of expert technical assistance to a broad ecosystem of actors. Key implementation strategies involve working closely with RLOs through three pathways: providing financial access via an RLO Opportunity Fund, strengthening their capacity to provide technical assistance to partners, and embedding them across Phase II’s functional areas. WUSC will serve as a network orchestrator, facilitating connections for scale and training partners and other stakeholders on RDP inclusion. Master’s degree preferred;</li><li>7+ years of progressive experience in HR and office operations, preferably within the international development sector and multi-country programs;</li><li>In-depth knowledge of regional labor laws, HR best practices, and donor compliance standards;</li><li>Proven experience providing operational supervision in cross-cultural and multi-country contexts;</li><li>Exceptional writing, negotiation, and communication skills in English;
