Key Responsibilities

• The all-volunteer Board of Directors is responsible for the effective governance of the organization and holds the Executive Director accountable for CFK Africa’s mission and vision.
• Safeguard the mission of the organization.
• Oversee implementation of the 2025-2030 strategic plan and organizational planning.
• Ensure strong fiduciary oversight and financial management.
• Fundraising and resource development.
• Enhance the organization’s public image.
• Ensure legal and ethical integrity.
• Maintain a connection to and presence in the Kibera community.

Preferred Skills

• The ideal candidate will share our passion for empowering youth in slums.

Essential expertise includes:

• 5+ years of executive experience in your respective career field.
• Expertise in digital technology, communication networks, AI, tech innovations, entrepreneurship and/or healthcare.
• Prior board experience with a CBO, NGO, or private enterprise.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and policy makers.
• Strong ties to East Africa.
• Ability to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring CFK Africa’s long-term sustainability.
• Alignment with CFK Africa’s vision, mission, and values.
