They ensure that each workstation has roughly equal task time so that the entire line operates at maximum efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Line Balancing
  • Analyze tasks required for product assembly.
  • Distribute tasks across workstations so that each station's workload aligns with the production cycle time.
  • Continuously adjust task allocation as production conditions change.
  • Workflow Optimization
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the production line.
  • Reduce idle time and unnecessary waiting between stations.
  • Improve overall line efficiency and throughput.

  • Cycle time
  • Takt time
  • Workstation utilization
  • Throughput rate
  • Ensure the line consistently meets production demand targets.
  • Process Improvement
  • Conduct time studies and motion studies.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste.
  • Implement improvements such as workstation redesign, task reallocation, or automation.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies.
  • Provide reports on line performance.
