Job Purpose:

The BDM will be responsible for growing the corporate medical business profitably, meeting set annual premium targets, and ensuring the successful management of client relationships, tenders, and scheme set-ups.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Grow medical business against set targets both in new business and retention.
  2. Enhance relationships with corporate clients.
  3. Ensure timely submission of quotations and tenders.
  4. Ensure proper set up of new and renewed schemes.
  5. Assist in pricing of the various products and schemes.
  6. Advise on terms of cover to enable proper underwriting and claims processing.
  7. Coordinate presentations to scheme members e.g. health talks, medical camps.
  8. Assist in product development to ensure that products are relevant.
  9. Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix.
  10. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce degree (marketing option preferred).
  2. Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII , FLMI, or IIK).
  3. At least 6-8 years’ experience in insurance sales 3 - 4 of which should be in a supervisory position.
  4. Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements.
  5. Knowledge of insurance products.
  6. Sales and marketing management skills.
