Dean School of Education

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Earned PhD in Education Administration and Management, Educational Leadership and Policy and any other relevant area from an accredited University
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent.
• Experience as a Dean or Head of Department shall be an added advantage.
• Must have served as Head of Department for at least 4 years.
• Demonstrable delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) in previous assignments.
• Registered by the relevant professional body
• Christian commitment and practice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Articulating and leading in the implementation of university policies and procedures and ensuring that the School policies and practices are consistent and compliant with those of the University.
• Coordinating through student formative and summative evaluation through continuous assessment, examinations, theses supervision and examination for quality and excellence in academic scholarship
• Engaging in teaching and training of students.
• Ensuring appropriate Christian behaviour both internally and externally in line with the University's vision.
• Identifying, benchmarking, and implementing best practices in the School's management for improved academic performance and achievements.
• Leading and managing communication between the School and other constituencies within the University.
• Managing and implementing change initiatives to achieve the desired University plans and culture.
• Monitoring curriculum implementation, sylabi use, projection of courses, and teaching methodologies.
• Monitoring research and publication outputs of the School.
• Monitoring the use of facilities and equipment assigned to the Shool.
• Preparing and revising, as necessary, academic programs, plans and calendar for the School in line with Senate calendar of academic events.
• Preparing, monitoring, and reporting of the School budgetary allocations and overseeing the utilization of budgetary resources.
• Responsible for talent management in the School including coaching, mentoring, developing, motivating, training, and evaluating staff to achieve the highest levels of performance.
