Job Description

Duties and responsibilities will entail: -

• Carrying out editorial activities on received manuscripts;
• Lay out, typeset and design the edited manuscripts;
• Proofreading final copy to eliminate typographical errors;
• Preparing any editorial comments or suggestions on the manuscript;
• Implementing design briefs;
• Implementing the publication policies and procedures;
• Participating in compiling the Institutes reports;
• Developing content for publicity and promotional materials;
• Developing content for the website;
• Facilitating the drafting of media articles and other communication messages; and
• Creating awareness and providing support on house style manual.

Job Specification

Position Summary :- The purpose of Editor; is to carry out editorial activities and lay out typeset and design the edited manuscripts; Proof read and prepare editorial comments and ensure all the institute publications meet all the set standards. 

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Information Science, Publishing, Communication, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Professional qualification and affiliation;
• Computer Skills in desktop publishing software; and
• Fulfil the requirement of chapter six (6) of the constitution.
