Faculty Dean - Law

Minimum Requirements

• Must have a PhD or equivalent Academic Doctoral Degree in Law or related field
• Must have evidence of Academic leadership
• Must have evidence of administrative experience
• Must have taught for a least seven (7) years at University level
• Should be at the level of Senior Lecturer and above
• Should be proficient in computer packages

Job Responsibilities

• Be a link between the faculty and various professionals, other faculties, alumni directorate and institutions;
• Coordinate staff and students recruitment in the faculty;
• Ensure effective implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) in the faculty;
• Lead the faculty in resource mobilization to ensure availability of essential resources to support faculty programmes;
• Monitor and evaluate strategic and development plans, realistically and timely
• Offer academic leadership to the faculty hence promoting quality research, teaching and community service programmes in the faculty;
• Organize and chair Faculty Academic and Examination board meetings;
• Oversee budget development and implementation as the Chief Accounting Officer in the Faculty;
• Oversee timely processing of trimester examinations as the Chief Examination Officer of the faculty;
• Oversee/supervise all functions of the faculty including formulating and reviewing all programmes;
• Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
• Present students for graduation;
• Promote a conducive working environment in the faculty including spiritual and social welfare;
• Promote professional development of all staff;
• Promote unity, justice and peace in the faculty;
• Promote University’s Mission, Vision and Core Values;
• Represent the Faculty in the University Management Board, Senate and other Committees
• Supervise and appraise the Heads of Departments, lecturers and administrative staff within the Faculty;
