Head of Finance and Operations

Our client, a cooperative Union based in central Kenya is seeking to fill Head of Finance and Operations. The appointment shall be a Three-year renewable contract based on satisfactory performance.Job PurposeThe Head of Finance and Operations is a senior, strategic, and hands-on leadership role responsible for providing comprehensive financial and operational leadership across the cooperative Union and its subsidiary business units namely, the Coffee Farm, Coffee Milling, Real Estate Management, Credit Section, Agrovet Business, Coffee Value Addition and Processed Coffee Marketing.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the cooperative’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with its strategic goals; provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and the Board.Lead the annual budgeting and planning process; review all financial plans and budgets, monitor progress, and report on financial performance to senior management in a timely manner.Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and Board reports in compliance with IFRS standards.Manage the cooperative’s cash flow, treasury forecasting, and liquidity to ensure adequate funding and optimize the use of financial resources.Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Co-operative Societies Act, KRA tax requirements and regulations.Establish and maintain robust internal control and risk management systems to safeguard assets.Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.Oversee the day-to-day operations of all the cooperative business units, ensuring efficient and smooth operational processes.Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational policies to ensure standardized practices across...
