The organization’s Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Directorate was established as a strategic technical assistance and thought leadership hub to strengthen health systems across sub-Saharan Africa through integrated programming, technical support, policy alignment, evidence generation and regional collaboration. The Directorate focuses on key pillars including Primary Health Care (PHC), Health Financing, Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Health Workforce strengthening.

The organization’s Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Directorate was established as a strategic technical assistance and thought leadership hub to strengthen health systems across sub-Saharan Africa through integrated programming, technical support, policy alignment, evidence generation and regional collaboration. The Directorate focuses on key pillars including Primary Health Care (PHC), Health Financing, Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Health Workforce strengthening.
JOB PURPOSE
The Health Financing Intern will support the Health Financing pillar within the HSS Directorate by contributing to technical research, evidence synthesis, policy analysis, stakeholder coordination, and documentation related to health financing and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) initiatives across Africa.
The intern will support ongoing HQ projects and technical workstreams through literature reviews, data analysis, report writing, coordination support, and development of knowledge products that contribute to strengthening health financing systems, strategic purchasing, domestic resource mobilization, and health policy reforms.
