The Maintenance Lead is the Progressive Maintenance systems owner for their line(s) and is ultimately responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses at the lowest cost. The Maintenance Lead is responsible for building capability in Operating Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line results supporting the Compelling Business Needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reduce/Eliminate Machine Breakdowns and stops from Machine settings.
  • Coordinate periodic preventive maintenance with the central maintenance team to ensure it is executed as planned and the machinery brought back to full production on schedule.
  • Ensure machine settings are well done to improve product quality, minimize waste and reduce downtime, hence increasing productivity.
  • Perform hands-on coaching for the equipment owners, for the progressive maintenance pillar.
  • Build capabilities among the technicians and operators.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum Diploma in mechanical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years working in a Cigarette factory 3 of which must have worked as a making or packing technician - mandatory.
  • Good Understanding of Knowledge of Secondary/QA operations.
  • Good Interpersonal skills: Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Leadership skills to assist in job deliveries
