Job PurposeImplementing & monitoring marketing programmes as outlined in the annual marketing work plan and ensuring that business development initiatives in the Uganda market segment are effectively delivered against key targets to sustain business growth and increase market share.Operational Responsibilities/Tasksi. Recommending initiatives to be incorporated into the annual Marketing Work Plan for the Uganda market segment.ii. Monitoring business and customer trends in the Uganda market segment to inform initiatives to enhance market share.iii. Monitoring and analysing traffic, throughput, market share trends and competitor activities.iv. Providing customer and market insights for incorporation into reports/concept papers/proposals/interim memos for management.v. Articulating insights on pricing and service differentiation to inform the development of Customer Value Proposition (CVP) and packaging Unique Selling Points (USPs) for the assigned market segment.vi. Undertaking customer visits to gather feedback, consolidate insights with the objective of sustaining business growth and enhancing market share.vii. Establishing a reliable database for customer analysis and effective targeting for the assigned market segment.viii. Organizing, coordinating and participating in trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops, conferences to monitor, improve service delivery and promote the organization.ix. Compiling market intelligence and relaying timely feedback to guide decision-making with the aim of growing port throughput and improving service delivery.x. Updating customers on port services, facilities, trade facilitation initiatives, tariffs and any other relevant information.xi. Coordinating with relevant functional areas on implementation of Business Process Improvement (BPI) programmes.xii. Preparing reports for marketing activities undertaken for the assigned market segment e.g., customer visit, traffic analysis, commodity trend analysis, competitor analysis, trade fairs, surveys...
