Mechanical Technician

Requirements

Qualifications required:

• Minimum academic qualification: Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant, Production, or Industrial Option).
• Qualifications as an added advantage: Auto CAD

Experience required:

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial Manufacturing plant, preferably in a rolling mill or steel processing environment.
• 3 years in supervisory role

Key competencies and skills:

• Ability to read and interpret machine, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematic drawings.
• Good knowledge of Hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in an industrial setup.
• Team player with good communication and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM module) is an added advantage

Computer literacy:

• MicroSoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ability to work alone and as a member of a team.
• Self Motivated and willing to work additional hours
• Good communication skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional/specific work requirements:

• Knowledge of ERP SAP PM Module
• Plant Maintenance (Preventive maintenance, Corrective-based maintenance, Breakdown maintenance)
• TPM & Gemba Kaizen knowledge.
