Program Officer

YOUR ROLE
As a Program Officer at Justdiggit, your role consists of:
1. Project Planning and Implementation
2. Stakeholder Engagement
3. Budget Management
4. Capacity Building and Training

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Involvement in the co-creation and development of rural communication strategy
• Support administratively and perform project management duties
• Ensure timely and successful delivery of (on- and offline) campaigns and documentaries
• Coordinate project activities at the County, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and project objectives
• Monitor project progress, identity potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders at the County level
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and consultations to gather input, address concerns, and foster collaboration.

WHAT WE ASK
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communication, Project Management, Development Studies or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in rural communication
• Willingness to travel over 80% of your work hours to project areas to have experience and connection with the project Implementing partners and local communities
• Deep knowledge of digital marketing & technology and a strong understanding of navigating complexities of project management, financial oversight, and compliance
• Proven experience in project management, preferably in the context of rural development and community engagement
• Strong understanding of program management principles, including project planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and facilitate collaborative decision-making
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge of rural communication challenges, including access to communication services and technology adoption barriers
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages relevant to the project's geographic context is an asset
• Previous media management experience is an added advantage
