Requirements for appointment

• Certificate in Environmental Health Science or Public Health Technology from a recognized institution; and
• Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
• Possess a current valid practicing certificate;
• Membership of a relevant professional body;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and responsibilities

• Provide environmental health extension services;
• Mobilize, sensitize and advise communities on matters related to environmental health;
• Refer health cases to relevant health facilities;
• Carry out immunization; identifying environmental health issues at community level;
• Organize community health days to advise communities on common public health issues;
• Implement vector, vermin and rodent control measures; and implement integrated mosquito control strategies; and
• Collect and maintain up to date records of services rendered; assessing health needs of the community.
