JOB MISSION & GOALS

The mission of the Social Media Manager is to manage ALX’s online presence by developing and implementing digital marketing strategies, curating good content, analysing data and facilitating online customer service.

You’ll need to:

  • Develop creative and engaging social media strategies.
  • Plan, oversee and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools.
  • Develop, launch and manage new campaigns that promote ALX brand.
  • Form key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms.
  • Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions.
  • Monitor, track, analyse, and report on performance of social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find innovative ways to attract and engage leads.
  • Manage, motivate and coach junior staff.
  • Manage budget for social media activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field. MBA or other Master’s will be considered an asset.
  • You have a minimum 5 years experience in Marketing with a solid understanding of the use of a range of social media platforms, particularly in relation to creating awareness.
  • You have the ability to think creatively about how to design world-class customer experiences. Contribute new and innovative ideas.
  • You relay analytical insight to internal and external stakeholders with various levels of analytical and digital knowledge and at all levels of seniority.
  • You have applicable knowledge in conversion optimization, with the aim of improving efficiency in digital marketing strategies and increasing ROI.
  • You have strong communication and people skills for articulating ideas to team members and internal stakeholders.
  • You possess organizational and project management skills, with capacity to prioritise and work across multiple projects.
  • You are enthusiastic and self-motivated, with the ability to lead self, projects, and people in a fast-paced environment.
  • You pay meticulous attention to detail, with an overall passion for continual improvement.
