Key Duties and Responsibilities:

<ul>
	<li>Overall management of schools.</li>
	<li>Planning &amp; coordinating school activities in consultation with BOM, PA, teachers, learners and education managers.</li>
	<li>Oversee the implementation of curriculum especially CBC.</li>
	<li>Management and maintenance of school infrastructure and resources.</li>
	<li>Create a safe environment for learning by promoting CFS policy, CP&amp;SG policy and adherence to TSC and organizational code of conduct. </li>
	<li>Management of school finances in accordance with organizational policies and values.</li>
	<li>Coordination with the M.O.E., UNHCR and partners to ensure provision of quality pre and primary education.</li>
	<li>Management of staff.</li>
	<li>Ensure equal distribution of teaching and learning resources to teachers and leaners.</li>
	<li>Classroom teaching.</li>
	<li>Timely preparation and submission of reports (weekly, monthly, situational and termly reports). </li>
	<li>Promote high standard of discipline.</li>
	<li>Admission of learners-promote inclusiveness and equity.</li>
	<li>Custodian of school records.</li>
	<li>Secretary to BOM.</li>
	<li>Promote education for girls.</li>
	<li>Promote education technology.</li>
	<li>Oversee internal and external assessments (formative and summative).</li>
	<li>Create awareness on emerging issues e.g. GBV, PSEA, FGM HIV/AIDS, early pregnancies and drug abuse.</li>
	<li>Oversee implementation of psychosocial support.</li>
	<li>Promote linkages between teachers, parents and the community.</li>
	<li>Oversee the school’s meals program and teachers’ lunches.</li>
	<li>Chair staff meetings.</li>
	<li>Oversee election of children’s government.</li>
	<li>Oversee administration of national exams.</li>
	<li>Assigning duties and responsibilities to teachers.</li>
	<li>Oversee formation of and adherence to school rules and regulations.</li>
</ul>

Supervisory Responsibilities:

<ul>
	<li>Deputy head teachers</li>
	<li>Teacher tutors</li>
	<li>Teachers</li>
	<li>School support staff.</li>
</ul>

Education/Professional Designations/Experience:

<ul>
	<li>Must have at least a P1 teacher training certificate or a Degree in Education (Arts, Sciences) from a recognized university or teacher training college.</li>
	<li>Must be registered as a teacher by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) with a valid TSC registration certificate.</li>
	<li>Must have served as primary school teacher in a refugee camp set up or in an informal settlement either rural or urban for a minimum period of three (3) years.</li>
	<li>Demonstrate ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; </li>
	<li>Experience in a similar role will an added advantage.</li>
