In East Africa - especially Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia - these practices remain common because of deep-rooted traditions, poverty, and weak laws, made worse by gender inequality and crises like conflict and climate shocks. Despite efforts to end them, progress is slow due to systemic challenges and regional differences.To address these challenges, the Future4Binti (F4B) programme seeks to protect girls from harmful practices like female genital cutting and child marriage by challenging harmful social norms, promoting positive behaviour change, and improving care for those affected. Its goal is to create safer communities where girls can enjoy better health and reach their full potential.ABOUT THE ROLEUnder the supervision of the Project Officer, the job holder will provide safe and reliable transportation service to Amref Health Africa.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESTrip Management<ul><li>Ensure staff and partners reach their destinations safely and on time.</li><li>Have the vehicle ready in advance for each trip.</li><li>Be prompt in picking up and dropping off staff and partners.</li><li>Ensure all necessary tools for the trip are in the vehicle.</li><li>Maintain a smooth ride by avoiding over-speeding.</li><li>Complete all trip documentation and obtain required authorizations.</li><li>Inspect tyre pressure and oil levels before each trip.</li><li>Adhere to vehicle service schedules.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of work tickets, including kilometers traveled, fuel consumed, and dates of oil changes.</li></ul>Vehicle Cleanliness &amp; Maintenance<ul><li>Ensure that the assigned vehicle has all the required licenses.</li><li>Regularly wash the car and keep it tidy.</li><li>Maintain the vehicle in good working condition.</li><li>Ensure repairs are done economically and timely.</li><li>Stay alert to potential mechanical issues.</li></ul>Passenger Safety<ul><li>Ensure seat belts are functional and all passengers wear them.</li><li>Adhere to traffic rules at all times.</li><li>Avoid accidents and report any incidents promptly.</li><li>Ensure that staff are safeguarded from any harm during travel.</li></ul>Other Duties<ul><li>Perform any additional duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2>Education and Experience <ul><li>At least three (03) years of driving experience preferably in Non-Governmental Organisation is preferred.</li><li>Should be a local of either Migori or West pokot – This is an added advantage.</li><li>Minimum “O” (Form 4) level of education.</li><li>Clean driving license</li><li>Certificate in basic computer applications.</li><li>Fluency in oral and written English and Kiswahili with the ability to follow instructions.</li><li>Good understanding of different vehicle operations.</li><li>Good knowledge and conversant with most routes in Kenya.</li><li>Ability to understand and implement precautions and preventive measures for proper vehicle maintenance.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Competencies<ul><li>Efficiently manage time to ensure timely transportation.</li><li>Be flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and needs.</li><li>Possess excellent interpersonal skills and show respect to others.</li><li>Be well-organized in managing trips and documentation.</li><li>Possess problem solving skills.</li></ul><h2>Additional Information</h2>Locals of Migori/West Pokot Counties are highly encouraged to apply!!!Your application should include a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role, along with your CV highlighting relevant skills and experience. In essence, the Internal Audit Field Officer will be expected to audit the work of the enrolment team, whose core responsibility is surveying households and enrolling them in our programs.Due to the sensitive nature of the work done by the internal audit team, we require all in-country internal audit staff to remain firewalled from the rest of the staff. This means operating discretely and independently, with interactions strictly limited to just the colleagues within the same team. Key ResponsibilitiesRecipient engagement (60%): <ul><li>Conduct in-person household visits for all individuals selected for enrollment to check and determine their safety for enrollment, assess vulnerabilities, and flag any pre-enrollment risk indicators to the management for proactive resolution.</li><li>Directly engage with high-risk recipients to provide them with the necessary support so that they receive their transfers safely</li><li>Directly engage with recipients to identify any corrections or improvements in field processes that are needed.</li><li>Investigate and resolve any recipient cases that have been flagged to the Internal Audit team.</li><li>Identify and escalate key risks associated with GD’s programs in the community.</li></ul>Risk monitoring (30%):<ul><li>Work with the IA AFM to undertake risk monitoring activities within the community</li><li>Work with the IA AFM to verify the quality and the risk level of the partner data pre-enrollment</li><li>Measure the quality of data received from the field teams against set data quality standards, reporting any cases of inconsistency.</li><li>Report any cases of fraud and bribery by GD staff and or recipient(s) that are identified through the appropriate escalation channels.</li><li>Utilise technology to flag any abnormalities in operation.</li></ul>Other (10%)<ul><li>Support the IA AFM in the onboarding processes of new team members</li><li>Assist the IA AFM with hosting visitors to the project location</li><li>Assist with response to “crisis” events (e.g., refusal spikes, government shutdown, coordinated fraud, etc.)</li><li>Promote effective team culture by encouraging recognition of positive achievements, planning team events periodically, and other team-building initiatives</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Possess a Degree/Diploma in Public Health, Nursing &amp; Clinical services, Community Health, or other health-related courses.</li><li>Has at least 2 years of practical experience working with expectant mothers, medical/hospital set up, or community health in a rural setting.
