Our flagship product, mSwali Quiz, is a USSD based Quiz game whose topics focus on the localized African countries & the continent.

About the Role

We’ve got a long and challenging road ahead of us – launching in different African countries to engage its people – and we can’t do it without an amazing software developer.

Job Title: Full Stack Software Developer

Job Type: Full Time

Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently when required but oversee & guide junior developers

• Provide on-going maintenance, support and enhancements for existing systems, applications and platforms

• Coordinate with the CTO on working on current programming tasks.

• Collaborate with other programmers to design and implement software features on new and existing applications.

• Presenting and recommending ideas for system improvements regularly.

• Quickly produce well-organized, optimized, and documented source code.

• Create and document software tools required by the organisation or other developers.

• Debug existing source code and polish feature sets.

• Contribute to technical design documentation

Key Requirements.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

• Good experience in mobile apps, web and software development.

• Solid knowledge of coding languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, PHP

• In-depth knowledge of SQL, ORM technologies, and common web frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git)

• Knowledge of the popular databases such as MySQL, Postgres, Cockroach DB, MongoDB

• Experience with cloud environment apps (Digital Ocean, AWS, Google, etc)

• Have solid knowledge of SMS and USSD application development

• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively

• Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business.

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

• Ability and willingness to learn new languages and technologies.

• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude coupled with focus and follow-through.

• Knowledge Android application development is added advantage Personal Attributes.

• Must be able and willing to collaborate in a team/cooperative environment as well as exercise independent judgment and initiative.

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Is extremely logical, detail oriented with a keen attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work-load and meet multiple project deadlines.
