# Description. Requirement Type 1 Master’s degree or the equivalent from a recognized University, relevant to the area of study (Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Public Health or related field). Mandatory 2 Proof of current PhD registration with a recognized University, either local or International within their first year of PhD studies will be an added advantage Added Advantage 3 Willingness to commit efforts and dedication to the PhD studies Mandatory

4 Must demonstrate capacity for continued career growth through publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or presentation at scientific meetings. Previous publications related to the research themes of the project will be an added advantage. Added Advantage 5 Must have excellent communication, analytical and writing skills in English Mandatory 6 Personal motivation of the candidate as demonstrated by their motivation letter and responses during the interview Mandatory

7 Demonstrate intention to pursue a long-term career in malaria research. Mandatory 8 Commitment to work in Kilifi County, Kenya for the duration of their studies Mandatory 9 Master's degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Public Health, or a related field. Mandatory 10 Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical methods. Mandatory 11 Hands-on experience in field data collection, including supporting data collection efforts and coordinating fieldwork activities.

Mandatory 12 A collaborative team player. Mandatory 13 Molecular biology skills such as PCR, RT-PCR sequencing, cell culture, microscopy, field work Mandatory 14 A motivation letter of not more than two (2) pages, outlining the applicant’s academic and professional background, relevant experience in relation to the project and position, motivation for undertaking a PhD, expectations and learning objectives from the PhD programme, and plans and career goals after completion of the PhD.
