The programme requires timely monitoring, reporting, communications and MEAL to ensure effective delivery and accountability. Following funding reductions and staff turnover, staffing capacity has been reduced to ensure programme sustainability. At the same time, the anticipated workload linked to El Niño preparedness and response is expected to increase significantly, creating a temporary capacity gap.
