Position scope

Reporting to the Security Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Security Risk Management services in the Tea Factory companies Ltd. within the region under deployment by conducting both on-site and off-site security operations as well as safeguarding of Core Sites and Shareholder Assets.

Key Responsibilities

<ul>
	<li>Providing support for day-to-day operational management and best practices to the organization’s management on security policy and practices</li>
	<li>Directing, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, tampering, sabotage or loss</li>
	<li>Managing strategic-level services, including, but not limited to, access control, incident detection and mitigation, communication and awareness, delivery functions, theft and property and deterrence functions</li>
	<li>Providing day-to-day guidance and management on investigation tasks by liaising with law enforcement and other internal stakeholders</li>
	<li>Conducting annual on-site/off-site security surveys at sites to ensure ongoing compliance to security standards, policies and procedures</li>
	<li>Developing, implementing and sustaining security-related training sessions for employees regarding fraud loss prevention, cyber security etc., so as to expand awareness of security standards, policies and procedures</li>
	<li>Managing, monitoring and evaluating site performance and other compliance activities pertaining standards on key security issues and programs and recommending corrective action as per standard operating procedures.</li>
	<li>Administering and implementing all audit programs for the management of access control systems, including access authorization and deletions, end user permissions, system administration, alarm configuration etc.</li>
	<li>Managing and providing guidance to the site security staff (Security Supervisors and site security teams) in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across Core Sites to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability resulting to reduction of financial loss to the organization</li>
	<li>Developing and sustaining close partnerships with other relevant departments (e.g., HR, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Technical Services) so as to develop a continuous comprehensive security risk management plan</li>
	<li>Developing and sustaining close partnerships with external stakeholders i.e. Law enforcement, regulatory bodies etc.</li>
	<li>Preparing based information, statistics and summary reports for dissemination to stakeholders at different levels in KTDA for continuous improvement of the organization’s Security Risk Management Framework, while at the same time manage all sensitive investigation-related information in accordance with appropriate confidentiality procedures. </li>
</ul>

Qualifications/Skills/Experience 

<ul>
	<li>Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Security, Risk Management, Criminology or any other discipline related to Security Management from a recognized institution</li>
	<li>Must possess a Diploma in security management or related discipline from a recognized institution.</li>
	<li>Professional courses in security management is an added advantage</li>
	<li>Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification or any other security proficiency certification from a recognized institution is an added advantage</li>
	<li>Minimum of 7 years of security experience in an organization of similar scale with KTDA, with at least four years at a supervisory level.</li>
	<li>Must know the use of MS Office packages</li>

Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA)

Security Officer – Two (2) Positions

The position holder shall report to the Group Security Manager and shall be responsible for securing the company environment, safeguarding company assets, personnel and stakeholders and foster integrity in business processes, Coordinate aspects of Security operations and provide the leadership required to ensure that the proper policies and procedures are in place to provide a safe and secure envir onment for employees, visitors, assets, confidential or proprietary information cost-effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

<ul>
	<li>Coordinates Security issues for all Company assets, Staff, stakeholders, and Information</li>
	<li>Conduct investigation and make recommendations on recovery of loss as well as prevention of future losses.</li>
	<li>Developing organization security contract Management guidelines in consultation with Group Security Manager.</li>
	<li>Interpret and disseminate company security policies and procedures</li>
	<li>Facilitate and coordinate security liaison between the Company and other stakeholders for all Security matters for the Company’s installations.</li>
	<li>Develop and monitor Service Level targets for outsourced security services.</li>
	<li>Ensure that all business recovery/contingency plans and/or procedures held within the security department are kept up to date</li>
	<li>Perform audits of security-related performance and conduct physical surveys of premise security, including security equipment Ensure compliance with security and Safety standards</li>
	<li>Monitor, evaluate, and appraise employees within the Section</li>
	<li>Formulate a Security survey plan and objectives and track the implementation of the recommendation.</li>
	<li>Ensuring adherence to the prescribed policies and procedures</li>
	<li>Maintaining security-related inventory of services, equipment, and materials.</li>
	<li>Coordinating Management of Control Rooms, and CCTVs in the region</li>
</ul>

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

Qualifications &amp; Experience

<ul>
	<li>Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Security Management, Criminology, Police Science, Leadership and Security Management, Peace Building, Conflict Management, Risk and Disaster Management, Public Administration, or any other Social Science from a recognized institution.</li>
	<li>Diploma in any of the following fields: investigation, intelligence, security, or equivalent qualification not less than one (1) year from a recognized institution</li>
	<li>Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.</li>
	<li>Basic training in Police, Military, National Intelligence Service or international Security Institutions</li>
	<li>At least 3 years’ corporate experience in security operations </li>
	<li>At least nine (9) years’ work experience in the Military, Police or National Intelligence service</li>
